Have you ever watched a hypnosis arm levitation sequence and wondered about the mechanics of it? One of my subjects recently shared with me his experience of arm levitation during one of my online web cam sessions. He’s thoughtful enough to always send me feedback after his sessions. I learn alot from his recollections of the sessions.  Snatches of what he can remember of each session, or his observations on the outcomes afterwards.  I’m on this side of the pocket watch (metaphorically) doing what I do when I put a subject into hypnosis. But every single person responds (or not) differently to the same hypnotic techniques that work so well for one, and then bomb with the another.

In his case,the subject that wrote to me, not Antonio, he came to me to orignally achieve his dream of complete and irreversible bladder incontinence as part of his adult baby fetish. Not every one’s cup of tea, admittedly, but specific suggestions aside, the trance experience has a common thread. What I am sharing here from his email is his fascinating account of experiencing arm levitation. His feedback on his incontinence journey has been invaluable and often formed the basis for the next session, building upon, reinforcing, modifying. Each hypnotic journey is individual.

He’d expressed a desire that a part of the last session be playful, just me playing with his mind and body. For him to feel things happening to him and realise they were happening without his input. Of course, arm levitation is a wonderful candidate for something like this. As also is triggering him into instant sleep for deep trance while he is in the middle of a sentence. Like a chloroform soaked handkerchief when you least expect it. So, it was with this in mind that I used arm levitation for fun, as a deepener, and as an unwitting convincer where convincing was neither consciously needed nor offered.

Only when I read his email did I realise he had a pre-existing condition with his arm which in a conscious state makes raising that arm rather painful.  I wouldn’t have done the arm levitation if I’d realised this, even though hypnosis is an effective pain management tool.

I will start with describing what I remember from the 4th session.

In fact there is only one sequence that I can remember very vividly. As I am a man of exact science, I never believed in arm levitation. An arm has a certain mass. To lift this mass you need some force. How can somebody execute this force when his body is totally relaxed? There is no other logical explanation for arm levitation than faking it and as such not being in a deep relaxing trance. Conclusion: arm levitation is useful during theatrical shows to convince the audience that there is some kind of magic going on.

When you started to tell me about my arms which soon would become lighter, an alarm went off in a far corner of my mind. My level of awareness increased and I was able to think again. I still felt very relaxed, but I was very aware of my body, legs and arms. I kind of panicked. You were actually announcing arm levitation and I knew, for sure, this would not happen. I quickly tried to decide if I would fake this to please you or if I would let you find out yourself when nothing happened. But how to fake before an experienced hypnotist? I was not sure about how an arm levitation should look like. My heart rhythm was still very slow, but it was bouncing very hard in my breast, throat and head.

Then suddenly my attention focussed onto my wrists. They were not touching the mattress anymore! And I was not yet ready to decide what to do! And you did not even yet started to count! Now I panicked even more. The panic got complete when I felt myself falling backwards (through the mattress?) and I could not grab the mattress to save me from falling down, because my hands and underarms did not touch the mattress anymore. I had nothing to hold on to anymore. I realised this was the moment I had to trust you in order to make things happen. Then the “lights” went out …

I open my eyes and at first I do not realise what I am looking at. It was rather fascinating to see two arms which were not mine. Those arms could not be mine, because I was totally relaxed and I was for sure not holding up my arms. I took a good look at the left one, because it moved slightly and doing so, time to time it came in front of the main light.

Here stops the only sequence I remember of this session. I now realise that arm levitation is possible. Those arms were mine, of course they were. Still I cannot explain why my left shoulder did not hurt when this all happened. A few days before I overloaded my left shoulder. In fact it still hurts a little when I raise my arm.

There are two things I never fake: orgasms and hypnosis.  In either scenario I would feel very silly and sure someone was going to catch me out.  Neither will I post staged hypnotic stunts on Youtube or any where.  Hypnosis is too good and too real to fake.  My only regret is that I don’t always have subjects willing to share how amazing their sessions are.

A comment on one of former Youtube clips accuses the subject and/or me of faking the following clip. 

This is the one where I freeze Kevin like a mannequin while he is demonstrating how to use dumb bells.   To me, and many that have watched it, one of the coolest things in the clips is how Kevin’s upper arm muscles become more pronounced as he strains to move.  Freezing was something Kevin really wanted to experience.  It made both our days when he responded so well to it.

So it’s kind of surprising that even with the bulging muscles showing up on the clip, a Youtube user (when this and my other clips were hosted on Youtube; now they’ve found a new home at DailyMotion) says they do not show any strain.

I also remember reaching out to grab the dumb-bells when I gave Kevin the sleep command.  The command seemed a good idea at the time, but in a split second, I realised he could hurt himself.  So I broke the fall of the dumb-bells by reaching out to grab them – almost sacrificing a finger nail in the process!

Kevin still writes to me and still feels incredibly turned on when he does so and when he gets my replies (laden with the triggers  I planted in him during that one session).  He had nothing to gain by pretending he had been hypnotized.   I wouldn’t understand why anyone that came to see me would pretend they had gone under.  And I’m also quite comfortable publishing any videos of my “failures” – because there is always so much to learn from failure (I believe David Elman believed passionately in this).   But then I don’t get many takers to be filmed so the odds of capturing a hypnotic blooper on camera are quite low.  But maybe when I get the incentive to go doing some instant induction street hypnosis.  I bet that gets me loads of learning material.  And I will share it.

And now for someone who did not, could not, would not fake his orgasms on camera.  I gave him a trigger in the form of a clicker.  Every time he heard the click, he got a dry orgasm, and the more he heard the clicks, the stronger the orgasms he experienced.  Then I gave him the clicker to hold himself.   This is a strange one, with the clicker.  The guys I’ve used it on have a love-hate relationships with the orgasms … after about the 10th dry orgasm, the pleasure is bordering on erotic torture.  And when you give a man a clicker, with the option to click it (after they’ve begged you not to click it any more), they always, always, can’t resist trying a click, to see if it works when they are holding it.  Well, it works a treat, they soon learn.

I went for a full manicure and pedicure today.  And I discovered something about myself.  My left foot is more ticklish than my right foot.  In fact, my right foot is fairly resistant to stimuli.  Not my left foot.  I collapsed in my seat in a fit of giggles as the pedicurist scrubbed my feet in a way that feels ticklish, yet … oh, so delicious.

Well, when I say erotic hypnosis on youtube videos, I have to admit that these videos don’t feature a lot of what I would normally get up to in a session.
